Test Structure:
The Digital SAT is shorter than the paper-based version and consists of two main sections:

Reading and Writing (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing)

Number of Questions: 54 questions in total.
Sub-sections
Reading: 27 questions that assess your ability to understand and analyze written texts.
Writing and Language: 27 questions that test grammar, punctuation, and the ability to revise written text for clarity, style, and correctness.

Math

Number of Questions: 38 questions in total.
Sub-sections
No Calculator: 17 questions, which test your mathematical reasoning and problem-solving ability without the use of a calculator.
Calculator: 21 questions, where you can use a calculator to solve problems.

Duration

The total testing time is approximately 2 hours and 14 minutes.
Reading and Writing: 64 minutes.
Math: 70 minutes (35 minutes for the no-calculator section and 35 minutes for the calculator section).

Question Types

Multiple Choice Most questions are multiple-choice, where you choose the best answer from four options.
Grid-In: The math section includes grid-in questions, where you enter your answer as a number.

Adaptive Testing

One of the key differences between the digital SAT and the previous paper-based version is that the digital SAT is adaptive. This means that the test adjusts the difficulty of the questions based on how well you perform in earlier sections.
The Reading and Writing and Math sections each consist of two parts. The first part of each section will have a fixed set of questions, and the second part will adapt to your performance. For example, if you do well on the first part, the second part will have harder questions; if you perform less well, the second part will feature easier questions.

Scoring

Score Range: The score range for the Digital SAT is 400 to 1600, which is the same as the paper-based version.
Math: 200 to 800.
Reading and Writing: 200 to 800.
The test is scored based on the number of correct answers, with no penalty for wrong answers (no guessing penalty).

Test Delivery

The Digital SAT is taken on a computer, and students will be provided with a tablet or laptop at the test center.
The test interface is designed to be user-friendly, with features like a built-in calculator for the math section (in the appropriate parts), a timer, and a tool for flagging questions you might want to return to.
